I cannot believe I am writing out my June favourites… how on earth are we in JULY?! I am super excited though, July is looking to be a pretty exciting month. First up we have my birthday where I will be turning the ripe ol’ age of 22 (I can confirm that I will be having the T Swift on repeat all day). It is only a few days away now and I have not really considered any plans, birthdays are always typically a quiet affair, I do not like to go too over the top with them so it will probably be a nice meal out with the family in the evening and perhaps a day-time trip down to Old Leigh which is my favourite place to spend a sunny day.
That was all Georiga and I wanted when browsing numerous holiday websites back on a grey day in April. We were knee deep in university work, I was typing out of the last of my ten thousand words for my dissertation whilst trying to plan two more essays, write a weekly academic blog and it just hit me. I needed a break. A break that featured a healthy dose of sun, sea and sand.
I’ve done it. I have finished university. The last four years of my life have all been leading up to that final hand-in I have just submitted. That final time that I have accessed our online portal, StudentCentral. The final visit to the library. It is officially done and dusted. And what a journey it has been.
June has slowly become my favourite month over the last few years. Since packing my bags off to university, June has since signalled the end of the academic year, the start of the Summer; it is the indication it is time to rest, just for a little bit.
Lumiere London, Southwark
Walking into the beautiful building that is Lumiere London in Southwark (just look at that interior!), I did not know what to expect of the #ManfrottoMasterclass. But, boy, am I glad I took the trip to the big smoke that day. Greeted with a glass of prosecco, I had no idea that a few hours later I would be leaving with a boatload of new found information and tons of tips all about the big, somewhat scary world of Youtube.
35 East Street, Brighton
My friend Georgia and I really like sweet things. Pancakes, crepes, cupcakes, cookies… basically, if it has chocolate in or on it or comes with a good serving of cream, the chances are we are all over it. So, I am sure you can imagine our pure joy when CrepeAffaire dropped me an email asking us to come and try their new buckwheat galette. A gluten-free vegan option that is wonderfully delicious; it did not take much consideration before we said yes!
