The 2018 Goals

I think that 2018 will be one of the scarier years I’ve had yet simply because I no longer have that comfort blanket of school, college or university. I’m still working part-time, which is my own personal choice, and I’m really enjoying how everything is working out at the moment, but there is definitely still that part of me that is a little bit apprehensive of what 2018 will entail.

Reflecting on 2017

Here we are. Just one day away from 2018. A brand new 365 days. A new start, a whole new bloomin’ year. The whole ‘this year has gone so fast!!!’ chat may be as boring as small-talk about the weather (corrrr, isn’t it cold?!) but that truly is it, this past year has gone incredibly fast and honestly, it doesn’t feel right to be sitting down and reflecting on 2017 already.

The Christmas Day Photo Album

Oh, Christmas Day. How I adore you. From waking up at a ridiculous hour in the morning because mentally, you are still a kid who just wants to open their presents and give the family the presents you brought them eagerly. To sitting down for the ever-so-famous and looked forward to Christmas lunch… turkey, pigs in blankets, telling the ridiculously bad jokes you find in your crackers, wondering which one of you got the red plastic fish that can tell you how you are feeling this year. Dusting off the board games and playing several rounds of Best Of British, realising you can only answer the questions regarding X Factor, I’m A Celeb and Lakeside shopping centre and drinking boatloads of prosecco to numb the embarrassment of losing again at Frustration.

Our Christmas Eve Traditions

It’s here, it’s here, it’s really here! Finally, it is Christmas Eve. The countdown to the big day is so near the end and it is well and truly the most magical time of the year. The presents are wrapped, the food shop has arrived, A Christmas Carol has been downloaded on to our Sky box ready for later, I’ve circled what I want to watch this festive season in the Radio Times magazine, I’m about to make shortbread biscuits and the Processco is waiting patiently to be opened and drunk in the fridge. It’s the most wonderful time of the year and I am so excited.

Putting Too Much Pressure on the Perfect Christmas

When the 25th of the twelfth month rolls around, there is nothing we want more than when Christmas Day comes around than for it to be a wonderful day full of lots of magical memories. In the last few years, I have always strived for the perfect Christmas. Dreamed of a Christmas surrounded by a large family, sharing gifts, eating together and playing games. A relaxed, fun atmosphere that you just cannot beat. Seeing the family you haven’t seen in months, sharing gifts and stories of Christmas past whilst reading out all the dodgy jokes in crackers and getting a bit competitive when you crack out the Trivia Pursuit. We all know that we shouldn’t base romantic expectations on what we see in the movies, or so they say, so I guess the same can be said for Christmas movies too.

My Favourite Bloggers of 2017

2017 has truly been the year of the blog. This year, more and more bloggers have truly cemented their place in the industry and if you ask me, this has been my favourite year for blogging. Like all good things, there have been some ups and downs (fake followers, bots, declaration) but all-in-all, it has been a wonderful year for the community with bloggers improving left, right and centre. We are seeing boss photography that tells a story, words that captivate and people that inspire. What. A. Year.
