Oh, Instagram. I do love you. Allowing me to be the little creative, photography loving self on a simple and easy platform. I may hate your new non-blogger friendly algorithm but all-in-all, you’re probably my favourite social networking app.
It’s not breaking or headline news that January is a hard month… well, Winter is a just a hard few months in general. It’s cold and it’s dark. You arrive and leave the office in that never-ending patch of darkness and you wonder if the sun even made an appearance that day.
One of the hardest tasks I find this time of year is sitting down and thinking about what goals I’d like to achieve over the next three hundred and sixty five days. I avoid the term ‘resolutions’ simply because it’s just so big, isn’t it? We always romanticise what we want to achieve in the next year… joining the gym, giving up sweets and travelling the world.
So, 2016 was a whirlwind that I didn’t expect. It was full of milestones, slowly exploring the world and saying ‘yes’ to oppurtunites I didn’t think I was lucky enough to even receive. Another incredible year that featured so much laughter, adventure, dreams and hopes that I won’t be forgetting anytime soon. It’s going to be hard saying goodbye to everything 2016 offered.
Christmas day. Every year different but also slightly the same. We played games, ate ridiculous amounts of good food, we joked and all-in-all, enjoyed the simple family time that Christmas gives us.

as we enter 2017, one of my ‘goals’ is to be more thankful for the platform I’m on, to be more confident and to realise “hey Abbi, your blog is pretty cool and what you do is pretty cool, and who gives a monkey’s what anyone else thinks?”. And the very first step towards that is quite simply, sitting down with my cuppa and exploring why blogging is good for me (and millions of other people).
