A Look Back At My 2018 Goals

I don’t know about you but we are five months into the year and I may have already forgotten those New Year goals I made for 2018. They were, of course, made with the very best intentions, to improve my life, probably my health and wellbeing and I guess, to make me a better person too. But now, five months in, those goals I made for the year have slipped my mind. Instead, replaced with those mini goals we have to set just to get through the day or week. Honestly, one of this week’s goals is to actually take those vitamins every day that I most likely brought in January. January promises this beautiful fresh start, it is a whole new year after all, but a few months and I find I fall into those old habits, with January and the all the blues that come with, firmly in the back of my mind, an almost forgotten month.

Why Is There So Much Pressure on Bloggers?

The blogging industry is never short of a little bit of drama every now and then. We are a pretty amazing community full of the most supportive, funny, lovely, inspiring ladies and gents living out their hobby of creating beautiful digital content but even we aren’t immune from a bit of disturbance occasionally. Whether it is businesses calling us out or even bloggers calling over bloggers out, it begs the question, why is there so much pressure on bloggers? Why has blogging become so controversial?

Why I Love Spring

Why I Love Spring

The sky is a perfect shade of pastel blue, driving around I can see the first signs of Spring making its long-awaited appearance, I can see handfuls of daffodils scattered along the green. Outside my window, looking over the fields, I can see happy children darting around on scooters and bikes, dogs and puppies running loose and people taking slow strolls in the first of the light Spring sun. It’s beautiful. Truly. And my mood is at an all-time high as I can hear birds singing as I crack open my window for the first time in months.

Finding your Perfect Pair with Matalan

I love denim. For me, there is nothing like the feel and look of a good pair of jeans. Unless it’s thirty degrees or snowing, I can guarantee nine times out of ten that you’ll see me, I’ll be in a pair of my trusty jeans.

I am twenty-two now so I have been buying jeans for a good few years and having been a student or on a part-time hourly wage, I cannot invest hundreds of pounds into my denim. I need a pair that is affordable, comfortable and looks and feels good. The pair that you shout from the rooftops about and recommend to your friends in your Whatsapp group. Those pair of jeans.

The Pink Pastel Bag Of Dreams

I’ll be honest with you guys, I’m not a bag girl. Nope. As long as I can remember I’ve been a shoe girl, ever since I was a little girl struggling to walk up and down the garden in my nans’ heels and forever wanting those awful, uncomfortable princess shoes you could pick up in the Disney store. Even now I’m 22, I’m no better at walking in heels but hey, at least my shoe collection is pretty impressive and growing. It is never not growing. But, the one thing I was never massively into when it comes to ~fashun~ is handbags. In fact, I have been alternating between two Zara bags I have had since I was seventeen.

Switching Off and Online Detoxing

I took a week off. A whole week. A whole seven days of not opening up my laptop, letting it gather dust for just a few days whilst I let myself recharge. I just burnt-out with blogging and social media and Instagram posts and scheduling and editing and I needed to step away. It was simple really – I think with the New Year I just started to feel overwhelmed, I hadn’t taken a break over Christmas and had continued writing, photographing, scheduling and all sorts so by the time the first of January had rolled around, I needed to escape a little bit. So, after a day of feeling frustrated after not being able to string a sentence together or take a half-decent photograph, I switched off my laptop, closed the lid, walked away and told myself I wouldn’t open it till I was completely, one hundred percent ready.
