I’m a blogger. I use social media. It’s practically a requirement. A blogger without social media? People would scoff at the thought. After studying a media degree, I can really see the importance of it. To spread a message instantly, to see parts of the world we were blind to before, to communicate without a limit, to feel connected. My blog wouldn’t be where it is without social media and I wouldn’t know some of the people I do without it.
Oh, Instagram. I do love you. Allowing me to be the little creative, photography loving self on a simple and easy platform. I may hate your new non-blogger friendly algorithm but all-in-all, you’re probably my favourite social networking app.

as we enter 2017, one of my ‘goals’ is to be more thankful for the platform I’m on, to be more confident and to realise “hey Abbi, your blog is pretty cool and what you do is pretty cool, and who gives a monkey’s what anyone else thinks?”. And the very first step towards that is quite simply, sitting down with my cuppa and exploring why blogging is good for me (and millions of other people).
Truthfully, third year is so much harder than I ever imagined. And half of that isn’t even the work itself; the pressure is insane. Everyone asks you what career you’re going to head into once you’ve graduated, everyone reminds you that your dissertation is the single most important piece of work you’ll ever do.
I don’t know about you, but when I get a new phone, I just have to fill the thing with apps. Even though I’ve only just upgraded.. even though I already have apps… I just have to get more!
So when my fancy new iPhone 7 arrived at my door (in the beautiful rose gold colour I’ve always wanted since it’s release), I decided, instead of downloading twenty million games, I thought I’d find apps that could be potentially helpful in this blogging world.
