The New Season Staples

I have mentioned the importance of switching up your skincare a little bit as the season changes. Different weather and different factors mean your skin requires different ingredients and skincare products to help keep it balanced and healthy! When the colder weather creeps in (anyone else wrapped up in a million layers today?!), I like to focus on hydration, the cold and the wind makes my skin bitterly dry and unhappy but also being mindful of the sensitivity of my skin.

So, here are the products that I am using this Winter to help keep my skin normal and happy. I have put away the lighter moisturisers and brought out the products that are going to give me intense hydration, help keep those pesky blemishes away and repair my skin from the harsh effects that Winter can bring. What’s best? The majority of them are super affordable, making them the perfect choice if you also want to switch up some of your skincare as Winter starts to show its face!

Without further ado, here are the five skincare products that I am currently using and will continue to use throughout Winter!

The Winter Skincare
The Winter Skincare Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser
The Winter Skincare Simple Vital Vitamins Day Cream

The Cleanser: In Winter, my skin seems to become more sensitive and irritable so it is essential that I use a cleanser that does the job of removing my makeup and daily grime effectively but doesn’t flame up my already sensitive skin. The Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser has been the answer to my skincare woes, a simple soft and gentle cleanser that leaves my skin feeling silky smooth, plump and most importantly, clean. I would say though, this is definitely a second cleanser. I always use my micellar water to remove the majority of my makeup before and find this helps to remove what is remaining perfectly! I personally wouldn’t recommend it to be used alone.

The Day Cream: Again, keeping along the lines of using products for my sensitive skin, I always turn to Simple Skincare when it comes to looking after and soothing my skin. Their Vital Vitamins Day Cream is the perfect moisturiser for me, it’s instantly hydrating, fragrance-free and leaves my skin feeling so soft and wonderful. The cream itself is beautifully and luxuriously thick but doesn’t leave that greasy residue we all try to avoid. What’s best, it works wonders and is so affordable!

The Detox Mask: When it comes to masks that are affordable and do the job a gooden, you cannot go wrong the L’Oreal Pure Clay masks! I adore the Detox one this time of year to help keep blemishes at bay. I try to use this once a week and it helps keep gunk, blemishes and blackheads away brilliantly. For me, this is such an essential in my collection, in fact, I’m not sure what my skin would be like without it!

The Hydration Mask: Ever since being introduced to Janjira back in 2015, I have adored their Pomegranate and Acai Facial Mask. It gives my skin such an intense and healthy dollop of hydration and makes the perfect moisture surge mask at least once a week. It’s just so ideal for this time of year when your skin requires a little more hydration. As well, is there anything better than beautifully soft and supple skin the next day?

The Night Oil: If you are a regular reader over here, you’ll know just how much I adore the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate and you can read my full love letter/review here but I love how this makes my skin feel. Redness is reduced, my skin is smooth, soft and hydrated and the lavender fragrance is just so calming and wonderful. This will forever be a repurchase for me!
