“It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year”
Well, here it is. It is finally December! In my opinion, the greatest month of them all! I adore all the festivities and Christmas cheer we are seeing at the moment as the temperatures drop and the trees go up. It is now officially the perfect time to play the Michael Buble Christmas album into your car CD player (if you still have one of those) and crack out the prosecco at any given moment. It’s time to start decorating and assembling the gingerbread house and if you haven’t already, it’s time to get yourself into the loft to grab down the tree and find the decorations.
I just adore this time of year which is why this year I decided to join with Blogmas. I have never attempted it before but considering how much I love the festive season, I wasn’t going to turn down the opportunity to write more Christmas-related posts than I have ever before! But apart from that, December is going to be the usual. Last-minute Christmas shopping, dedicating a whole weekend to decorating, prosecco fuelled evenings wrapping up presents whilst I sing awfully along to the Christmas Hits Spotify playlist and just taking advantage of everything festive.
So, here’s to a fabulous December! Full of Christmas movies, Christmas songs, Mince Pies, chocolate, bobble hats, love, glittery wrapping paper, last-minute supermarket dashes and most of all… happiness! I hope December is a wonderful month for you and I cannot wait to share all the Christmas fun with you this month!
Watch ALL the Christmas Movies
Is it really December if you don’t find a different Christmas movie to watch every night? For me, there is truly nothing better than being curled up on the sofa, all the fairy lights and tree lights on, watching a classic Festive movie with the family. It is just so uplifting watching a Christmas movie that you’ve watched every year ever since you were little and it is just the most perfect way to get into the Christmas Spirit!
As tempting as it has been to watch some Christmas movies last month, I held off as I didn’t want to spoil the Christmas Spirit in December but, this was seriously hard as they are truly putting on Christmas movies earlier and earlier aren’t they?! My dad watched Love Actually back in September! I have got a list of all my favourites I want to watch before the 25th, Elf, The Santa Claus (one and two!), Love Actually, Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas, A Christmas Carol, The Polar Express, the Nativity… the list is just endless! Not forgetting the Christmas TV specials too… The Gavin and Stacey Christmas special never fails to make me chuckle!
Keep Up With Blogmas
This is the first year in my blogging life that I have decided to commit to Blogmas and I am really nervous about it! I have NEVER posted every day before, ever and sometimes, posting just three times a week can seem impossible with busy lives but I am determined to do my very best with Blogmas! In fact, I am SO excited for Christmas/Winter related content being churned out every day, I do hope you’ll come along for the ride!
One of my biggest concerns with Blogmas is a loss of quality content because of the tight schedule alongside Christmas of course but I have actually spent a lot of November writing and photographing the posts so hopefully, the quality will still be the same. It has been so fun prepping for Blogmas and has truly kickstarted all the festive feelings.
So, make sure to join me over here… every day at 7:30am until January the 1st. Cue the nerves and excitement!
Finish My Christmas Shopping
I’ll let you into a little secret… I am definitely a last minute shopper. I think it runs in the family… it’s not unusual to see my mother and I darting around a shopping centre or supermarket Christmas Eve grabbing all the last-minute bits. I have actually started to do my gift shopping and especially because I always order online (so much easier than buying from the shops right?!) I need to make sure everything is ordered in time for the big day… nothing more annoying than receiving your brothers Christmas present after Christmas, it is just never the same!
Spread The Christmas Cheer
This year, without putting too much pressure on myself, I want to go overboard with the festivities and spread the Christmas Cheer! I’m notorious for being one of those people who get so caught up with everything else going on in my life I forget to make plans and dedicate time to simply having fun. Like I said, I want to watch all the Christmas movies, I want to do lots of Christmas baking, meet up with friends, and maybe even have a mini pre-Christmas staycation. Who knows, all I know is that I want to go pretty full out this December!
What are your goals for December this year?
