Why You Need A Facial Oil

Why You Need a Facial Oil Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate

Specifically, the Kiehls Midnight Recovery Concentrate

It was only back in June that I tried a facial oil and honestly, it has completely revolutionised my skincare routine. Since introducing the Kiehls Midnight Recovery Concentrate into my nightly routine, my skin is so much softer, plump, less angry and has a lovely glow I haven’t been able to achieve with anything else.

When it comes to facial oils, there is the myth that using an oil on combination to oily skin worsens those symptoms but that couldn’t be more wrong. Using an oil regardless of your skin type can completely transform the skin, helping repair and balance things out without making your skin feel more oily and greasy. Dependant on different ingredients and purposes, oils can replenish, hydrate, repair and calm skin, regardless of the type of your skin you have, which is exactly why it is worth investing in a facial oil for your skin.

Not only that, facial oils feel incredibly luxurious on the skin and every time I apply the Kielhs Midnight Recovery Concentrate, it truly feels as if just those few drops are giving my skin the perfect dollop of TLC that it requires, especially as we enter colder months. In fact, I’m not sure what my skin would do without it.

The Benefits

Visually, I am truly obsessed with the benefits of using the Kiehls Midnight Recovery Concentrate. My skin is notably softer and plump and has a much more youthful and calm appearance. My skin regularly gets quite angry, I’m lucky that I only seem to get spots around my time of the month, but I still suffer from redness and dry patches. My skin used to look very dry and very tight with enlarged pores and distinct red patches and since applying this nightly for the last few months, my skin is definitely softer and looks so much calmer. I still get redness, after all, there is only so much an oil can do for redness, but it has definitely been reduced, thus making it so much easier to cover when it comes to makeup too.

Alongside reduced redness and a softer appearance, my skin is also so much visibly radiant and with a glow. Instead of a dry, almost flat appearance, my skin has a subtle glow and so much more dimension. This oil has given me an appearance I haven’t been able to achieve with anything else and it’s so simple too. Simply apply 1 to 2 drops of the oil to your skin, massaging gently and leaving it to work its wonders overnight.

The Ingrediants

I don’t tend to discuss ingredients and all the science stuff when it comes to beauty products purely because I don’t feel as if I am educated enough to pass that information down to you but even I will go as far to say that the ingredients list is pretty impressive when it comes to skincare and the perfect combination. One of the main ingredients is evening Primrose Oil which boosts radiance and also works as a skin repair barrier which is just amazing. Alongside that is Lavender Essential Oil which is also good for radiance but truly perfect for soothing irritated or inflamed skin which is so ideal for an oil that works its magic overnight. Finally, the last ingredient to note is Squalane, a signature Kiehl’s ingredient which helps to keep your skin soft and supple. All-in-all, a really impressive combination of ingredients which are truly perfect for the skin.

All-In-All

All-in-all, I adore this skincare product and nothing else in my collection compares. It’s a little drop of luxury and has made me look forward to my night-time skincare routine. My skin feels instantly soft and hydrated as soon as I apply this and sinks beautifully into my skin straight away which gives the impression that all the product is doing its purpose, as opposed to just sitting on top of the skin. The Kiehls Midnight Recovery Concentrate may seem pricey at first, at around the £38 mark but I promise that is truly an investment product. It’s luxurious with both the oil itself and the packaging reflecting that but with only needing 1 to 2 drops per evening, this lasts impressibly long. I have had my bottle since June and it has barely even made a dent and I am no where near the need to repurchase. In my opinion, it is worth every single penny of that £38. The benefits and magic this has worked on my skin is completely priceless!
