25 Goodies and Gingerbread!

Beauty advent calendars are gaining more and more popularity every year, becoming the perfect countdown present for those who love to try a few different products. With these advent calendars varying in prices, products and brands, it can be a little difficult choosing which one to gift or treat yourself with. But, let me introduce you to the perfect option. A visually stunning advent calendar (i.e going to look fabulous on display), the M&S beauty advent calendar features a mixture of both makeup and skincare products and houses a variety of different brands that M&S sell including firm favourites Stila, Nuxe, and Rodial that I know loads of people would love to try!
To celebrate the launch of the calendar, M&S took some of us beauty bloggers down to the famous Biscuiteers in Notting Hill (my new favourite place… can I just spent all day there eating the biscuits please?!) where we got to have a go at creating our own gingerbread house. It was such an exciting event but it did ultimately show that sadly, I won’t be taking up a future in icing anytime soon! If you do want to see my truly fabulous efforts, do have a peek down below… but essentially, icing is so much harder than I thought and than it looks. In fact, I have a newfound respect for one – the people on Bake Off working under the time pressure and Paul Hollywood… and two – anyone who ices professionally. We got to have a look around the shop after and all the handmade designs were truly stunning, they were literally perfect!
But now, let’s take a sneak peek at this year’s M&S Beauty Advent Calendar…
The calendar itself is so beautifully designed, with the house it stands in and all the little boxes it holds. It looks so lovely sitting amongst all the Christmas treats and decorations we have out on display waiting for us to tuck into and I love that is is so classicly Christmassy!
Not only do you get to try a large variety of different products and different brands, there are twenty-five goodies to open! I personally absolutely love this as most advent calendars have either twelve days or twenty-four so it is amazing to see a calendar with twenty-five days… and yes, the roof is the twenty-fifth and final day and I am personally so excited to see what M&S have stored up there!
Not only that, the calendar is truly fantastic value for money, only £35(!) when you spend £35 in store on beauty or fashion. £35! That is just incredible if you ask me considering just how many products and brands you get to try over the twenty-five days… it is almost beauty lucky dip and I am personally all for that!
If you would like a full list of what’s inside every box, head on over to the M&S website for a full breakdown, but for those you would still love the surprise of opening up the little bit of joy every morning, I’m going to give you just a smaller taster of what’s inside and to give you a glimpse of just some of the amazing brands you’ll get to try.
Rodial Dragon’s Blood Sculpting Gel: The first product I randomly picked out is the much love Rodial Sculpting Gel which is known for its anti-ageing and smoothing formula. The full-sized is a little pricey, so I am so excited to give this a try to see if it is worth all the pennies!
Alpha H Liquid Rose Gold: You know something is good when Caroline Hirons says it’s good… which is why I am so excited to try the Alpha H Liquid Rose Gold. This claims to smooth and firm your skin whilst offering a hydration injection, which sounds right up my street for Winter! What’s best, this is a big enough size to give you enough try’s to work out whether you want to purchase the full-sized product or not.
REN Instant Firming Beauty Shot: Every REN product I have tried before, I have loved so I am really looking forward to giving this a whirl, their Firming Beauty Shot aims to rapidly improve the skin by lifting, firming and plumping the skin. It sounds so so lovely and so ideal in the harsher weather conditions!
Let’s Talk Biscuits
If you have never made a visit to the Biscuiteer’s Shop and Icing Cafe before, you really do need to arrange a trip down to Notting Hill! The shop is so beautiful, with stunningly iced biscuits around every corner. The shop has been done up spectacularly for Christmas, I’m talking biscuits playing the part of baubles hanging off of every tree and everywhere you look you’ll find an iced Santa Claus and Snowman. The shop is beautiful and believe me, I’ve got my self a little (read: huge) gift list of decorated biscuits I would love to buy everyone! The icing and attention to detail is truly perfection, I was completely blown away by just how good it all was – truly too good to eat!
Gingerbread House Fun!
I’ll let you into a secret… I have never actually made a gingerbread house before. Shock, horror, I know! So I am sure you can imagine my excitement to be making my first one, alongside lots of other lovely bloggers and with Biscuiteers. As I said before, it was actually really tricky! My hand definitely started to ache after a while but a few glasses of prosecco and lots of tasty festive treats from M&S later… I was actually really proud of my gingerbread house, I don’t think it looks too shabby! But, I’ll leave that up to you to decide…
I want to say a massive thank you to the team at iCrossing and M&S for inviting me to this fantastic event! I had SO much fun creating the gingerbread house and meeting all the other fab team members and bloggers. It was such a lovely evening that truly put me in the festive mood! What do you think of the M&S advent calendar?
