Ahhh September. We welcomed the introduction of Autumn, nights started getting longer, TV started getting better and all in all… we stepped one step closer to Christmas (yep, I said it!). It feels like yesterday I was planning and jotting down my 2017 goals, thinking about the year ahead, wondering what I had in store, where I was going to go, what I was going to do. It doesn’t seem right walking around a supermarket with Christmas chocolates ready on the shelves. It doesn’t feel right bringing out the hats and scarfs.
They say as you get older, time goes quicker. For me, there is no denying that this year has so far flown by and I struggle to catch up. In fact, as I write this, we are into the second week of October. Summer was a blur, a mixture of post-graduation happiness and post-graduation anxiety and stress. I worked a lot and tried to figure a lot out, by the time September came around, I was ready to let go of that ‘graduation university’ worry I had been carrying. I’m hoping that October is a positive month and I will continue to let go of the stress of post-graduation life. And yes, it is a real thing, people.
September was a good month for me, I had a fantastic time at Disneyland Paris (read about that here) and spent a lot of time working on my blog and Youtube (I really do hope you are enjoying the content!). Another achievement was managing to watch the entirety of Dr. Foster in three days (that ending though!). So, all-in-all, I’m ready for October and what it brings (hello X Factor weekends). But for now, here are my September favourites!
Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lipstick ‘Be My Baby’
Matte lipsticks are definitely one of those things where you either love them or you hate but for me, it’s all love. The Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lipsticks is the latest matte offering in my collection and I adore it. They are creamy, beautifully long-lasting and aren’t too drying as far as matte liquid lipsticks go. And believe me, when I say long-lasting, this does not budge at all and is seriously one of the best liquid lipsticks I have tried.
The finish is matte but does have a slight velvet look too, which I’m completely obsessed this. Definitely one for applying and not worrying about; it doesn’t flake, doesn’t fade. It just looks pretty darn fantastic all day, if you ask me! You can see it in action in my Autumn Makeup Look over on the ol’ Youtube.
Ghost ‘Dream’ Fragrance
I sometimes struggle with perfumes – if they are too strong or heavy they tend to give me a headache so typically, I stay clear. That was until I received the newest fragrance from Ghost, ‘Dream’. After years of avoiding perfume, I am now fully embracing it thanks to Dreams’ beautiful sweet scent that is wonderfully airy and light but still makes an impact. I mentioned in my Instagram post the other day that this takes me right back to breezy Summer evenings and even though we are entering Autumn now, this scent is still my favourite and perfect for me.
This is definitely worth a whiff if you come across it. I think the scent is truly beautiful and captivating and the bottle is just beautiful, it’s classic and catches the light wonderfull showing off all the different colours that you might not initially see. Definitely my new favourite!
Kiehls Midnight Recovery Concentrate
Ever since I picked this up in June on my flight back from Gran Canaria, my skin has been thanking me. It’s a pricey skin treat but truly luxurious on the skin. I have combination skin and this keeps my skin hydrated, soaks into the skin beautifully without leaving a greasy residue and helps to combat any pesky blemishes. Any dry patches I used to notice have now gone and my skin overall just feels more soft, plump and less tight.
For those who love the scent of lavender, you’re probably going to love this product. The scent is subtle but certainly present and makes this the perfect night-time before bed skin treat. Definitely deserves all the hype that surrounds this product!
Redken Extreme Strength Builder Plus
Since getting this product recommended to me from someone on Twitter, I have been fully obsessed with this hair mask and kicking myself that I didn’t discover this sooner! This has completely transformed my hair. My hair was extremely dry, brittle and starting to break due to heat damage and years of dumping bleach on the poor thing but a few uses of this mask has brought my hair back to life. It’s so beautifully soft, my hair feels so much tamer, it’s easier to manage and it looks better too. In fact, since using this, I’ve had the odd compliment on how shiny and soft my hair is!
For me, this has been a complete miracle product for my hair and I couldn’t believe the difference after just one use, it’s completely magical in my eyes! I tend to apply this to dry hair and leave it on for a good 4-5 hours before rinsing in the shower and then washing my hair as normal to give my hair some true TLC.
