“The most magical place on earth…”
I am a true believer that we all need a little bit of magic in our lives… a sprinkling of pixie dust, if you will, which is why I adore a visit to Disneyland Paris. It’s not too far away, it’s so easy to get to via the Eurostar and the whole place just puts a smile firmly on my face. Whether it’s the constant music playing as you skip down Mainstreet USA, the way the cast members and characters treat you no different than the kid they met before you, the way the attractions and experiences are just a million times better than in the UK or just simply, ‘because it’s Disney’. Ever since I was a little girl I adored Disney, with The Lion King and Peter Pan playing constantly on my VHS Player but somehow, I appreciate the parks and everything in them so much now as a 20-something ‘adult’. You spot those little details more as an adult and you can appreciate a pastel-filled world of fun over a normal day in the life. Would I run up to characters anywhere else? No. But am I going to get a picture with Minnie Mouse? You can betcha bottom dollar I will! There’s just something about stepping through those gates, just something about being in ‘Disney’ that will take you instantly back to your childhood, freedom, and pure, unfiltered happiness.
You may know I’ve visited the parks in the last few years also, (2015 post, 2016 post) but this year was slightly different with it being Disneyland Paris’ 25th Anniversary. With a new parade, Illuminations show, refurbed attractions and not forgetting to mention, a really good deal I spotted on the Disneyland Paris website, it truly would have been rude not to have booked and experienced.
And boy, have Paris gone above and beyond this year! The park just feels ‘nicer’, there’s more magical touches and decorations and the attractions needed the refurbs they received, making it truly an enjoyable trip. Even if it did pour down for the majority of it…
Of course, I still took too many pictures and believe me when I say I struggled to cut them down for this post but without further ado, here is a snippet into my trip at Disneyland Paris. Keep an eye out for a vlog too! And remember, you are never too old to enjoy a bit of Disney magic!
