Bath & Shower Treats From Zoella Jelly and Gelato

Zoella Jelly and Gelato Shower Sauce Bath Frosting

Sweet Treats

Zoe (Zoella) just keeps getting it right doesn’t she? Two massively successful Youtube channels that will not stop growing, a blog that receives plenty of daily hits, three novels under her belt and of course, not forgetting to mention her hugely successful beauty (and lifestyle) range. In fact, does anyone else remember the launch back in 2014? I remember social media blowing up with pictures and videos from the event and we all raced online to grab ourselves something from the range. Three years later, Zoella Beauty is still going, with several collections (including Christmas editions) to its name and a worldwide launch. And now, Zoe has just introduced her latest collection: The Jelly and Gelato range.

The last collection of Zoe’s I tried was the Sweet Inspirations range; I liked it, it was affordable, different but for me, I found the scent was still a little ‘young’. Zoe’s fan base varies but I still could not help but think that some of her collections certainly suited a younger age range but then she launched the Jelly and Gelato range. The name is still pretty ‘young’ but that is as far as that goes, the packaging is lovely and feels a little more sophisticated and grown up compared to her other collections. The ‘Zoella’ branding is not too in your face but if you watch Zoe’s channel, you can still tell that it is very her. The price tag for the items is still affordable, meaning those spending their pocket money on the range can still afford it as well as anyone else browsing the aisles of Superdrug. So far, it is all a thumbs up from me!

Here are my thoughts on two of the items from the Zoella Jelly and Gelato range!

I decided to go for only two items in the range, purely because these were the ones that stuck out most to me when deciding what to get. I needed a new shower gel so the Shower Sauce went straight into my basket followed by the intriguing Bath Frosting. The scent of both products is something I wasn’t expecting, I was thinking that the scent was going to be overly sweet but instead it is a beautiful floral, fresh scent that I really like. For me, the scent doesn’t particularly remind me of Jelly and Gelato but rather, something much more sophisticated and grown up.

The Shower Sauce is nice enough – it’s creamy and lathers up nicely and the scent is perfect for Summer. In fact, the only thing I’m not keen on is the name, ‘Shower Sauce’ doesn’t particularly sound appealing to me but it does the job it’s meant to do. The scent is the real winner here, it is really, really lovely and uplifting and it’s enough to make me want to repurchase.

Now don’t get me wrong, I do like the Bath Frosting but apart from the scent (which again, I really love), this doesn’t do anything for me. Four packets don’t seem like enough and I think this would have been more deserving of its price if there were more sachets and I found my bath did not turn milky, it just looked like slightly discoloured water to me. But the scent is beautiful, subtle and lingers around on the skin so I’m happy about that. For me, the bath frosting is one of those products I’m just not sure about. It’s nice enough with a pleasing scent but it just didn’t wow me and I’m not sure if I would re-purchase, but perhaps those who prefer a more simple bath as opposed to something colourful or bubbly, this would be wonderful.

All-in-all, this range has not completely won me over but the scent is more than enough for me to enjoy the products I’ve got. I do not think the name of the range itself matches the scent but I can see the inspiration and I also adore the packaging, it’s definitely my favourite out of all the other Zoella collections! If you are looking for bath and shower items that are affordable and smell beautiful, then you don’t need to look any further than this range from Zoella beauty, her products are lovely and do just what they need to do. Based on the scent alone, I already have my eye on the Body Pudding!

Have you tried anything from the Zoella Beauty Jelly and Gelato range?

  • I’ve heard so many people saying the scent isn’t what they expected with this range – it makes me want to head down to Superdrug and give them a sniff!xx

    • Yeah, I honestly thought it was going to be very sweet – wasn’t expecting something more demure, I definitely prefer it though – just think the name is a little misleading! Definitely go and give them a whiff – I love the scent! Xx

  • Your photos are so beautiful Abbi! Loved this post, tempted me to try the range even more.

    • Oh, thank you SO much Alice! I think it’s worth popping into Superdrug and giving the range a whiff, the scent is everything haha! Xx

  • I really wanted to get some of this range but the scent has put me off – I was hoping for an ice-cream type scent but it’s not like that at all! Shame as I love the packaging. Lovely photos too 🙂

    • It is a shame and I’m a little confused as to why they went with the name Jelly and Gelato when the scent doesn’t match! It worked for me. – I prefer the more floral scent but I can understand the frustration if you were expecting something more sweet! Mybe try her Sweet Insipirations Range if it’s still available, the scent might be more to your taste! Thank you! Xx

I totally agree. To me this just smells awful. It smells like the fake floral smell they put in a bug spray or something. I really wanted to like it because I heard such great things about it, but it is just not for me. I did smell her other range – Sweet Inspirations – and that one is more of a smell I can get behind.

  • I love the way she’s designed the packaging. It does sound a little weird that the name doesn’t match the scent x

This collection packaging does seem slightly more sophisticated that her previous ranges! I haven’t actually ventured to a shop to have a sniff of the new scent, but after reading this I feel confused about what direction she was actually going in with this, if the whole collection branding and the scents don’t match up? I definitely need to head to a shop and see for myself x
