The Cult Skincare
I mentioned a few weeks ago that the Pixi Glow Tonic was one of those hyped blogger products that I could not help but buy into. And when I say hype, I do not just mean a few bloggers mentioned it on its release and it went pretty popular… I’m saying that you can guarantee this product will be featured in numerous ‘favourite skin care’ posts in the blogosphere at least every few weeks. It is most definitely a cult product and I could not help but feel left out that my bathroom shelf was not adorned by the pastel green packaging and orange liquid. So, I went for it. My purse was £18 lighter and I had a new skincare product to play with.
The Pixi Glow Tonic is an exfoliating toner that claims to brighten and condition the skin after cleansing. It is enriched with 5% glycolic acid (a natural exfoliator that helps to remove dead skin cells and combat wrinkles) and also aloe which is great for hydrating and soothing. Its ingredient list is pretty exciting and certainly ticks all of the boxes.
But, we all know the risk with overhyped products is that you up your expectations, end up expecting something phenomenal that in reality, is just ‘nice’. So, the question is, is the Pixi Glow Tonic worth the hype that surrounds it? Here are my thoughts.
The idea of putting chemicals on such delicate skin can be quite terrifying but the Pixi Glow Tonic is unbelievably gentle, even on my sensitive skin. It doesn’t leave my skin feeling dry, tight nor does my skin go red. It also doesn’t feel harsh when you apply it to the skin, for me, it feels no different than applying my micellar water.
As for results? I couldn’t believe it when I used this on my skin, how much left over makeup was on the cotton pad and since using this (in the evening only) my skin has felt so much cleaner and as if I really have given it a good scrub.
I’ve also noticed that blemishes don’t seem to hang around as often anymore which is blooming brilliant if you ask me and any scars that I had previously from blemishes are slowly reducing in size and appearance which is just amazing!
For me, I do really like the Glow Tonic and can’t believe I went so long without it. My skin is happier, brighter and as for the actual toner, I have no complaints! I wish the bottle was bigger as I have so very nearly run out and I’m slightly concerned I’m going to be spending that £18 a lot but considering this actually works, I don’t think I’m going to mind too much.
So, the question is… is the Pixi Glow Tonic worth the hype? In a nutshell – yes! If you are looking for a product that is going to tone, brighten and perfect all in one, then you really do not need to look any further than Pixi, the Glow Tonic truly ticks every box!
