Reading blogs is a dangerous business I have you know! Full of beautiful imagery, wonderful words and then, the next thing you know, you have got a wishlist as long as your arm and you are thinking to yourself, ‘pasta for dinner this week then!’. In fact, before I discovered blogging back in 2011, I have no idea how I used to buy products without a recommendation from my favourite people online? Did I just use to go to the store and just… buy something at random? I do not remember but blogging has become such an integral part of my life and before I buy anything, I will have a scroll through my favourite blogs to see their recommendations and thoughts.
These are the products that either had a fair bit of blogger hype around them or were just simply recommended by several of my favourites and somehow, just somehow, the product ended up in either my physical or online basket. Bloggers have a knack for photographing products so beautifully with a matching write-up so impulse purchases are such a regular thing for me now, opps! So quite literally, and the title of this blog post could not be more apt, the bloggers made me buy it. I am also pretty proud to say that all the products I have bought that have been heavily influenced by a bloggers’ recommendation, I have loved or do currently love, very muchly so. So, without further ado, here are the products that the bloggers made me buy!
The Skincare Item
Pixi Glow Tonic
Leanne’s blog is one of my favourites and I could not trust her opinion more so when I saw her glowing review on the Pixi Glow Tonic (i.e such a blogger fave) I found myself ordering my very own orange bottle. It has been the first ever product I have ever tried from Pixi and it has been the perfect introduction to the brand as I love it! My skin feels squeaky clean after I have used this and blemishes and redness have also been reduced. I have very nearly finished my first bottle and I will certainly be re-purchasing!
The Finishing Product
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit
This one was most certainly Anna’s influence! When this palette was released just in time for Christmas two years ago, bloggers (understandably) went crazy for it and I am pretty sure it was featured in every gift guide going! It is one of the most beautiful makeup palettes out there with its’ mirrored packaging and beautiful powders inside and I just fell in love and just had to have it. Since then, my mother has fallen in love with it two and brought her very own Hourglass palette! The powders are gorgeous and create such a lovely healthy glow that remains pretty natural. I have completely hit pan on this palette now so it is certainly time to take a little trip down to Space N.K!
Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette
The Sunday Girl is a blog I turn to regularly for beauty recommendations and when I saw her swatches of the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette many moons ago, I just knew it had to be mine. The pink and mauve hues the palette offers are right up my street and I knew from owning previous Urban Decay palettes the quality would be from second to none. I completely adore this palette, it is one of my all time favourites and I know I am really not alone there – just ask any other blogger!
The Base Product
Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation
I am sure that there have been a fair few handful of products I have bought off of Zoe(lla)’s recommendations in all the years I have read her blog and watched her channel but the one I can remember back to most recently was the Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation. She raved about this in one of her videos and I added it straight away to my wishlist. I struggle with buying foundations so much as I always worry I will not like how it looks but trusting Zoe’s recommendation paid off – this is such a lovely foundation, it has the coverage I like, covers my redness and has a beautiful, almost flawless finish. It is a firm favourite of mine!
