My Go-To This Winter
After the mild fall we were lucky enough to have this year, my Winter suitable clothes were firmly stuck in the back of the wardrobe. It was a ridiculously warm September and October and even now, two weeks into November, the temperatures are only just dropping.
Now that it’s actually cold enough to warrant the woolies, I headed onto ASOS for some Winter wardrobe inspiration and boy, did I find it! I ended up purchasing what is now my new favourite jumper, the perfect pair of loafers and a few more more classic pieces to keep me warm this season.
Winter clothing ideally has to be practical, but it doesn’t mean we need to compromise on style; you can still look effortlessly chic whilst staying perfectly warm. Layering is certainly key, especially when the weather is as unpredictable as it currently is and outfits can easily be tied together with accessories that are stylish but serve a purpose.
So grab yourself a festive hot drink (the Lindt Hot Chocolate from Costa is magical), get yourself on ASOS and start looking for some Winter style essentials (or, scroll down and have a look at mine!)

Jumpers: It’s no question that knitwear is a winter essential but I do have a few boxes that have to be ticked and it’s been a little while since I’ve found a jumper that ticks all of them. That was, of course, until I stumbled on ASOS’s Ultimate Chunky Knit jumper. Beautifully soft? Check. Oversized but not drowning? Check. Stylish cut? Check. Good range of colours? Check. Extra details? Check.
This is in around 3 or 4 colours including pink and oatmeal but the simplistic girl in me settled on grey. It’s beautifully soft, has a nice, even cut and that quality feel I’ve come to expect from ASOS. The high neck is a nice touch; adds extra flare to the jumper, helps to keep you warm but unlike roll necks, doesn’t feel restricted. Such a staple piece you’ll continue to reach for this season.
Jeans: I’m not denim’s biggest fan and I’m yet to find my perfect pair of jeans buuuut, the ASOS High Waisted Denin Jeggings do come close. These are beautifully soft and super skinny but they do have the elastically to stretch that is just essential when you love pasta as much as I do. These are also a clean black, perfect for those days (i.e nearly every day) when I want a perfectly monochrome outfit and the high-waist allows jumpers and tops to be tucked in to give a slightly more fitted look, if you so wish.
Accessories: No matter how cold it is, I will always reach for and wear a scarf throughout Winter. I’m forever picking up the long, blankety scarfs that can be styled however you wish, but double-up nicely as a extra layer you can wrap around your shoulders when it’s seriously cold. The blush pink colour is the perfect addition to any monochrome wardrobe and looks killer paired with a leather jacket. Mines from ASOS, but this Topshop one is pretty similar!
Shoes: Oh these loafers, how I have always admired you. Your smart exterior that always catch my eye and the gold bar detailing that truly finishes of the look; you’re such a Winters staple. Effortlessly chic, loafers are seriously on trend this season. Surprisingly easy to style, you can pair these up or down with anything; jeans and a t-shirt, suede skirt and tights, they simply go with anything. Oh, and for just £20, these guys are a bargain!
