The One Where I’m Slightly late to the party…
As I type this out, I’m spending my morning in my favourite coffee shop, a hot chocolate sitting next to me (covered with completely ridiculous amounts of cream of course). I’m wearing my fluffiest jumper and I’ve just seen someone walk past the window wearing a coat and bobble beanie. Autumn is definitely in the air and I couldn’t be happier about it.
I love the crisp air, the slightly frosty mornings. I love the colour change on the trees and the fact it’s truly fully acceptable to wear a berry coloured lipstick and no one judges you for it. I’ve officially said my goodbyes to September and I’m one hundred percent ready to embrace Autumn and the very beginning of Winter’s arrival.
To mark the occasion, I thought I would revisit the products I’d been in love with September and are dragging with me in October too (and possibly November, let’s be honest)! I know I’m slightly late to the party with this one, but I just couldn’t not share these favourites with you! So, grab a beautifully hot beverage, your comfiest blanket and get yourself comfy to read through my September Favourites.
Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation
I shoved the BB creams into the back of the drawer and brought out the foundations that give me a little bit more of a fuller coverage. In Winter my skin tends to be duller and lacks the luminosity (and tan) that typically features in Summer so I want a foundation that covers that up nicely.
Which can only mean one thing; say hello to the Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation. It has beautiful coverage; it covers all those pesky areas, it evens everything out nicely and lasts all day. Using my Real Techniques Buffing Brush, this gives a truly wonderful finish. Slightly glowy, but not even a touch oily with an almost perfected look… I just can’t get enough of this and without a doubt, this is my go-to Autumn/Winter foundation.
Maybelline Colour Drama Pencil ‘Nude Perfection’
When a product is £4.99 and works like a dream; I’m probably very much obsessed with it. And that is most certainly the case with the Maybelline Colour Drama Lip Crayon in Nude Perfection. Beautifully creamy, easy to apply and with the matte finish we’re all after, this formula really impresses.
The colour is gorgeous too, a beautifully natural nude that isn’t too dark it’s un-wearable but isn’t too light that it’s concealer lips-esc. It’s got a nice warmth to it that’s flattering and allows it to be that lips but better colour that couldn’t be more perfect for everyday.
L’Oreal Pure Clay Purity Mask
L’Oreals skincare Summer release really got me excited this year and when I finally got round to using the brand new masks, I was not disappointed. All three are pretty fabulous and work together like a dream but the one I’ve been reaching for most is the green Purity Clay Mask.
This soaks up excess oil instantly without your skin having to compromise on hydration; my skin still feels as hydrated as it did before using the mask. This also helps to dry out and get rid of any blemishes; I’ve become a pretty regular visit to breakout city and this mask has thankfully helped the blemishes do away nicely. It’s soothing; skin feels so beautifully soft, fresh and clean and this little tub seems to be lasting me ages. Such a affordable skin saviour!
MOA Aphrodite Facial Oil
I’ll be perfectly honest; the oil trend that really started to take the blogosphere by storm last year scared me. I imagined it to be a crazy, messy situation. I didn’t like the idea of oil sitting on my face and it just seemed like everything I would hate in a skincare product. Until I tried it…
The MOA Aphrodite Facial Oil has become my go-to for hydration and radiance I just can’t get with any other product. It’s deeply nourishing and helps with redness wonderfully. Any dry patches I have are disappearing and any acne scaring is healing beautifully. I’m slowly getting use to the oil formula, but the benefits completely made the unfamiliar texture so worth the while! My breakout prone, dry and un-even skin is slowly transforming and that’s all thanks to this product.
Tanya Bur Beauty Eye Palette ‘Birthday Suit’
Tanya Burr beauty really is going from strength to strength isn’t? From the original glosses and polishes, to lashes, to re-designing and to her two new collections; it’s becoming the perfect go-to makeup brand. I love the lip glosses and the nail varnishes are some of my favourites so when I saw Birthday Suit, I knew it was the palette for me.
The shadows are so beautifully soft but still manage to be perfectly pigmented. The softness allows them to be so easily blended yet they still last a good few hours. The colour selection is perfect; even with only four shadows, you can mix and match and go from daytime to evening so effortlessly. I was so pleasantly surprised at just how much I love this palette; it’s the perfect every day go-to.
