The Ones You Always Go Back To

Sometimes, even though there’s over a million cosmetics to pick and play with in the world, you find those few, those select few that couldn’t be more of your perfect match. Those products where the consistency is right, the texture, the feel, the end result is perfect and every time that little bottle or tube stars to feel a little light, you sprint as fast as your feet/the tube/the car will take you to the nearest Boots or Superdrug or Space NK to pick up your beloved once again. Those instant repurchases. We all have them, and today, I’m sharing mine!

In other news, it’s been a long time since I checked that ‘beauty’ category box in the post writing section, hasn’t it? I’ve been really enjoying writing about fashion and also a ton of advice posts (I hope you find them atleast a little bit helpful) but, I did miss the familiarity of writing a good old fashioned beauty-based post. So here we go, I’ve rummaged through my makeup collection (that’s still over the place thanks to my move…) and gathered four of the products that I always instantly re-purchase when I notice they’re starting to run a little low. Basically, the point of this paragraph is is to kind of explain that I promise there is still a good mixture here on SimplyAbbi; fashion, beauty and lifestyle. And I hope that is ok with all of you! 😘 In other news, let’s read about these products, shall we?

The One For Skin…

Now, I remember when this little tub of clear gel swam it’s way overseas and the online beauty world went crazy… and not in a good way. People reaaaaaally disliked this and the ‘hype’ blew over pretty soon. But, me? I was so curious as to why everyone was so ‘meh’ about this that I actually went out and brought it. Yep, I am that person. So, this came home with me and then the next day I tried it kind of expecting to hate it and then well… I really liked it. The Maybelline Baby Skin Primer is a clear, soft (quite strange feeling gel) that you apply to your t-zone and pores to help reduce the appearance of pores and helps your makeup last that little bit longer. Once you get past the weird texture and blend it into the skin, you’re well onto your way to lovely looking skin that feels perfectly normal, I promise. For me, this does definitely lower the appearance of my pores, smoothes everything out, makes my skin look that little bit more Instagram-ready and does definitely help in keeping my foundation looking picture-perfect for longer than normal. The best thing? Because you’re only using a pea-sized amount, it’s near-on impossible to use this all up, but every time I have, I’ve jogged to that Maybelline stand so quickly my skin hasn’t had a chance to experience life without this yet.

The One For Perfecting…

I feel like whenever this particular product is mentioned on blogs or in videos there’s a collective sigh from the readers and audience. Why? Because everyone loves and everyone talks about this product like there is no tomorrow. I almost feel like Collection could quite literally stop doing every other product in the world and live comfortably off of the profits of this one particular product haha! If every beauty blogger was to create this post, guaranteed the ever-so-famous Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer would be featured on their list. This little concealer is amazing; it helps to minimise the appearance of spots nicely without looking too dry or cakey and it really does wonders for those pesky under-circles that we mostly all suffer from. It’s cheap, it’s cheerful, it’s easy to buy, it does the job and I like to have several back ups. As of yet, nothing has quite come close. Which is good really, because I have two more waiting to be used…

The One For The Lashes…

Do I even need to talk about this? If you’ve read my Top Three Mascara’s post, or The Products I can’t Live Without post, you’ll know just how much my little heart loves the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara. Volume, length, longevity; this mascara has it at all. I’m just so in love with how this mascara transforms my tiny, little stubby lashes that I’ve grown up hating and suffering with for years. This gives me the lashes that I desperately want with such easiness and no hassle, I love it. Maybelline really won here with this mascara, it’s amazing and I know that my views are echoed by hundreds of people in the beauty industry! Also, fun fact: I have super sensitive eyes, normally, if my eyes water, I have atleast half hour of discomfort every time if the mascara I’m wearing happens to loosen from my lashes. With this mascara, I don’t have any issue so, whilst I know that that might not be the same for everyone, but if you have sensitive eyes, maybe give this a whirl, this might just be a lifesaver!

The One For ‘On Fleek’ Brows

Ok, ok. I’m sorry for the whole ‘on fleek’ thing. I just can’t help it, I think it’s so funny and just… where did it even come from?! Anyways, again, you already know how much I love the Soap and Glory Archery Wax, the easiest and quickest way to get amazing brows without difficulty and any other tools. It’s pigmented enough to allow you to work with it and build up the colour but it’s not crazy pigmented that you might go over the top and un-fleek your brows. It’s great, the spooli is always a welcome and handy addition and even though I do rotate between this and powder, this is something I always come back to and I always have a back-up in my collection for any brow related emergencies.

So these are my four products that fall into the ‘instant repurchases’ category but I’d love to know if you have any much loved makeup products that you simply re-purchase without question when they start to run out?
