MAC Lipstick ‘Shy Girl’ /
Every girl has their perfect nude I think… and this is mine. Whenever I want to go for a simple, everyday nude that I can just chuck on and run, this is what I grab. Shy Girl has peachy undertones which changes it up slightly from the pinky-brown nudes and has a cremesheen finish; it glides on like a dream, is wonderfully buttery and doesn’t fade unevenly. I’m a big fan of neutral numbers and this is definitely the one I wear the most (it also lives in my handbag. That’s when you know).
Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation /
I may of only picked this up two weeks ago (Superdrug haul here) but I think this may be one of my all-time favourite foundations. This is wonderfully creamy (i.e not liquid, easily bendable), sinks in really nicely and offers you a nice, dewy finish that doesn’t border on shiny. This literally makes my skin look somewhat flawless; it covers my redness, smoothes everything out and lasts, for me, on average for around 5-6 hours before it needs re-touching. I love it. I can’t get enough of it. Why didn’t I try this before?
Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara /
I’ve actually done a few review on this before so feel free to read that for more detail (here) so you will already know just how much I
like adore this mascara. It’s dramatic, it’s intense and it actually gives me the appearance of lashes; long, thick lashes. Plus, it’s easy enough to remove but doesn’t flake throughout the day, bonus, bonus, bonus! I’m yet to find another mascara that compares to this one, it’s honestly that good. I promise.
Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet /
For those days where I’m after a intense, dramatic lip that’s going to stay put through drinking, wind, rain… you name it, this is what I immediately go for. This applies like butter (it’s unbelievably soft), drys quickly, and honestly… won’t budge until you need to remove it. Considering this does have the dreaded matte finish, this isn’t drying at all and it mostly undetectable on the lips. The colour is incredibly intense and requires careful application but the result is well worth this. I love these and I throughly recommend taking a trip down to your local Bourjois stand and get swatching!
MAC Blush ‘Melba’ /
MAC Blushes are my usual go-to’s purely because of the impressive shade range and the fact that once you’ve found ‘your’ finish, you know exactly what you’re going to get. The matte finishes are my favourite because because of the intensity of the pigmentation. You really don’t need to go crazy with this, in fact, I barely even dip my brush in and I’ve got more than enough. The blushes aren’t chalky either and they’re super blend-able; meaning if you do go over-the-top, it’s easily fixable. Melba is a natural shade with peach undertones and my favourite for everyday.
NARS Eyeshadow Duo ‘Islode’ /
Intense pigmentation, blend-able, creamy plus matte black packaging? NARS eyeshadows are not something I have enough of in my collection. In fact, I think I might just dare say these are my favourite eyeshadows formulas of all time. The pigmentation is out of this world yet you can go ahead and blend this out effortlessly. But what I love the most with these is ‘what you see is what you get’, some shadows don’t always look the same as they do in the pan on the eye, but these are the exception and look incredible.
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish ‘Soft & Gentle’ /
Highlighting (or strobing) is all the rage at the moment so I couldn’t not include my all-time favourite highlighter in this. This is one of those products where I have a few similar in my collection, but I always find myself reaching for this one. The product is champagne coloured highlighter, very finely-milled and once again, has intense pigmentation so I barely need to dab my brush into the product to get enough to add that radiant look. This is the perfect colour for my skintone and it’s build-able, it does allow for a more natural finish but you can really go to town with this if you really wanted to. This also comes with me on every holiday and weekend away… so you know that this really is a winner!
