Another month down, another month closer to December… another month closer to the big C word some are dreading and some are counting down the days for (I’m the latter). October whizzed past, it’s almost impossible for me to think of what I’ve done; university, mainly consuming more than enough hot chocolates for a lifetime and… university. I’ve spent so much time the last month working towards my degree, it’s somewhat surprisingly that in that time I’ve managed to actually apply some makeup! But alas, I did and managed to round up my monthly favourites for you!
Garnier Micellar Water / Over Summer, I switched to a balm cleanser in order to remove my makeup but sadly, it irritated my sensitive skin and I ended up having to rummage through my collection and found this. This removes even the toughest of makeup in a flash; is so easy and delicate on the skin, but still feels you feeling clean and refreshed. (Fun Fact: This also comes in travel sized).
Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge / It took me months to get into the whole ‘beauty blender’ thing and let’s be honest, I’m a bit late to the party but this little orange sponge has taken my whole makeup routine to crazy new levels! Using this gives off a lovely flawless complexion which looks smooth and covers up any redness and/or blemishes. Don’t ask me how, I don’t know the science behind it, but what I do know is that, even though it may take me slightly longer, it gives off the most amazing finish that I just can’t recreate with a brush.
Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara / Not too much needs to be said on this one, you know I love it. For a dramatic look that’s going to amp up your lashes and completely transform them, I recommend this mascara over anything else. It’s also so worth the £19 price tag; to the point I would actually repurchase this (and that’s really saying something)!
Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation / You know you have a good foundation when all your others become unused and slightly dusty in the back of your drawer…. This Bourjois offering gives off a lovely flawless finish but doesn’t have that cakey look some foundations do. This also has a slightly heavier consistency than it’s serum counterpart and nicely covers up pesky redness and blemishes. What’s more comforting, is knowing I can apply this at half 8 in the morning and it still look the same at around half 5, though maybe a little bit shiny, my redness is still nicely hidden. Basically, a perfect foundation perfect for those days I need a little bit more coverage and lasting power than a BB cream.
Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Matte Lip Stain / Well, I’m clearly having a bit of a Bourjois moment, aren’t I? I couldn’t recommend these more for Autumn/Winter. With industrial staying power, these can literally stand against all the weather forces and I promise you they just won’t budge. As I mentioned in my last Superdrug Haul, this beautiful red shade (01 Personne Ne Rouge) is a very strong contender for the Christmas day lipstick, after all, I want something that’s going to stay all day looking pretty fabulous whilst I eat all the food and play all the board games!
Maybelline Colour Drama Lip Crayons / Another lip product to add to your wishlist’s this month is definitely the Maybelline Lip Crayon in Berry Much. A beautiful, intense purple shade that really stands out (and makes your teeth look super white) and, let’s be perfectly honest, your best friend this Winter. Despite it’s matte finish, this is wonderfully creamy and it doesn’t seem to highlight any of those pesky dry bits which is such a big bonus for me, plus, again, with incredible lasting power, you just can’t go wrong.
The Body Shop Strawberry Body Mist / Though much more suited to Summer, I still can’t get enough of this body mist. Perfumes and I don’t usually mix and anything that’s quite strong will leave me with a lasting headache so I tend to prefer to stick to the softer, subtle scents. The smell of this is just beautiful and not actually as sweet as you would think but very fresh and a hint of fruit, of course. These are perfect for just chucking into your handbag and having them on the go for a spritz if you so need. At just £7.50 a bottle, I won’t mind as much if this happens to break whilst in my handbag, compared to a £40+ bottle of perfume.
I also filmed this for last weeks video which you can watch below, I hope you enjoy!
