Spring Lips

L-R: Rimmel Colour Rush Balm, Tanya Burr Lipgloss, Illasmasqua Lipstick, MAC Viva Glam

Today I’m talking everything pink! Pink lipsticks have recently taken a backseat in my life after my new found love for more nude colours, but if there is one season you have to show off your pink collection in, it’s Spring! Here are my favourite go-to pinky shades…

First up is my newest addition to my (ever-growing) lipstick collection. The Miley Cyrus Viva Glam Lipstick came out back in March and has stole my heart ever since I first picked it up. This lipstick has the amplified formula and is a beautiful hot pink shade; this is less on the ‘bright’ side and is a little more of a darker fuchsia but can I just say, this looks incredible! This glides on the lips effortlessly and yet so pigmented. It’s also a favourite of mine because once it’s applied and looking lovely, it doesn’t then go on to dry out your lips. Massive bonus! What’s best thought is that the proceeds from this lipstick go towards people living with AIDS. A must have if you ask me.
More of a matte girl? I got your back! Immodest from Illasmasqua is my all-time favourite bright pink lip! This is a touch lighter than the Miley Cyrus offering and has an incredibly matte, bold finish! I love the matte finish but this is very drying and will bring out those sneaky dry patches on your lips. To make this beautiful pink a little more bearable, I apply lashings of Carmex on my lips before applying. You’ll still get that matte finish but without half the difficulties!

Tanya Burr lip glosses have been a very welcome addition to my collection! These non-sticky and beautifully pigmented glosses are a must have in every girls make-up bag! My particular favourite is Afternoon Tea, a dusty pink colour that is nice and light but doesn’t wash you out. These are so creamy, have a wonderful sweet scent and last for a good few hours!

My last pink lip essential product is the much-loved Rimmel Colour Rush balm in Give me a Cuddle. This is such a creamy product that glides on the lips effortlessly yet packs loads of colour! These also offer a lovely but not too strong vanilla scent (mmm!) Sadly, this one doesn’t last as long as the others and certainly won’t stay put through eating or drinking… but the colour is very pretty and the balm itself is super moisturising so worth applying more than once… right?

What’s your go-to pink lipstick?
