Homeware Haul

Homeware is not something I talk about enough on SimplyAbbi. I’m only 19 but I long for the day I have my own flat/home to decorate it like mad. During the past 6 months, my interior design levels have seriously increased and there is nothing that makes me happier now than walking into a homeware store and lusting after all the beautiful decorative items and furniture.
I’m incredibly lucky to live in Brighton most of the year and as I’m sure most of you will know, Brighton is home to some of the most beautiful homeware shops in the UK. I had a lovely snoop around the stores the other day in North Laine and there were a few items I just had to pick up and buy. You will notice a reoccurring theme throughout this post… yes, hello copper! Copper and rose gold items are my new favourite things. I just love the whole rusted copper look! I can’t get enough of it. I’m already eyeing up a copper lamp as it’s next on my wishlist, I just wish lamps weren’t so expensive…!

The first thing I picked up is this copper tray from Oliver Bonas. Do I need a copper tray? Probably not. Did I buy a copper tray? Yes. Have I thought of a use for this copper tray? Not yet… but isn’t it beautiful? Oliver Bonas has some truly beautiful items in their shop, I was lusting after everything! Their furniture is so beautiful and it made me wish I had somewhere to put the beautiful colour block desk they had in there! But, I settled for the tray. This has a beautiful textured effect, almost as if someone has repeatably stabbed it with the rubber end of a pencil. I have a feeling I might use this for a prop for blog pictures, or maybe on the bedside table to place jewellery and what not at the end of the day.
You guys know my obsession with mugs. It’s official, I’m now collecting different mugs. For no other reason than when I move into my own house I will have just one cupboard filled with lots of different mugs. I don’t want any plain ones in there and each much will be different and unique. It’s the small things I know. I couldn’t resist this Emma Bridgewater look-a-like alphabet mug. This is just so beautiful, form the letter ‘A’ to the watercolour flower print. Sass & Belle; a shop after my own heart.

Posh Totty is fast becoming one of my favourite shops down North Laine. It’s full of beautiful handmade jewellery featuring the moon, stars, flowers and many more. There are some beautiful timeless pieces in there that I can’t wait to look at better when I have more time. But, they also sell some decorative items. I picked up this copper (yes) wire basket. This, obviously, just fits in with the whole copper theme perfectly and I want to either store my Lush products in here or maybe just some random skincare items. I’m not too sure yet but everyone knows a basket is always rather useful.
If you love kitchen and baking accessories, then Bert’s Homestore is the shop for you. It’s filled to the brim with measuring jugs, lunch boxes, party essentials, cupcake cases… you name it, they most likely have it. I always love to have a browse in here but this time I actually managed to buy a few items. I have resisted so long buying one of these mason style drinking glasses. I’ve tried so hard to not buy one but this one is so adorable I literally couldn’t resist. Perfect for smoothies and summer style drinks. To go with the drinking glass, I obviously had to buy these red and white paper straws. They fit perfectly in the hole in the lid of the glass so was obviously a match made in drink heaven! Finally, I brought this Happy Jar. Just look at it! It is essentially a glass just covered in glitter and with a little patience you could easily make this at all home but I just wanted it there and then. This is going to look so lovely and sparkly sitting on my desk housing either makeup brushes or pens. Just. Look. At. The. Glitter!

The last place I ventured into was Primark! Their home section has literally levelled up (as those on Tumblr would say…) and I thought it was worth picking up a few bits and bobs! I brought these LED lanterns as I rarely ever see lanterns in other shops. Is that just me? But, I thought they were lovely and they remind me of clouds. Fairy lights/lanterns always add a lovely homely, warm feel to a room I think and I love the look of them just dotted around. Pair them up with a few candles and you truly have the cosiest room going! Talking of candles… I couldn’t resist picking two from their rather big selection. I choose Sweet Vanilla and Coconut and Red Berry and Jasmine. Neither of the scents are too overpowering and the packaging is just gorgeous. I’m yet to burn them but if these are as good as people say, I might not need to spurge on Yankee anymore… but we’ll see!

So after spending a small fortune, my bedroom is looking lovely if I do say so myself. Anything caught your eye here? I hope you enjoyed the video!
