Hello July! Corr, I know it seems like general practice whenever anyone posts a monthly favourite post/video to mention how they can’t believe how quickly the year has gone by but truly, this month, I just can’t! Though, saying that, I am very happy we have finally reached sunny (take with a pinch of salt people!) ol’ July! July holds some very exciting events for me this year, in 8 days time, I will be finally turning 18 (eeek!) which I’ve been so excited about since I turned 16 haha! Sam’s birthday is also later on the month which is very exciting as it will be my first year celebrating his birthday and finally this is the month (well, should be…) I will be booking my very first holiday without the parents! Boom!
June was quite the average month for me but as always, there are a few products and items that stand out to me and I have quite a few this month, so grab a hot beverage of your choice, some fluffy slippers and it’s time to enjoy some light reading!
First up is the fabulous Violet Toning Shampoo from my new favourite haircare brand, Fudge! Now, for whatever reason, I keep buying different purple shampoo’s despite the fact that they are all essentially the exact same thing and all do the exact same thing. I’ve personally never found a difference between any of the purple shampoo’s I own until I brought this one from Fudge. This purple is really, really dark so this works a lot better than the others I own as it really helps to vanish those brassy/yellowy tones in one use. I can really see myself re-purchasing this as you literally own need the tinniest bit for it to work so it’s well worth the £12 you pay for it!
Another firm favourite this month is ‘Prickly Pear’ from the Barry M Gelly Hi-shine collection! I briefly posted about this in my post about my favourite Summer Barry M favourites which you can read here! I have been wearing this colour non-stop over the past few weeks and I just can’t help but reach for it when I go to paint my nails. I just love the beautiful lilac shade and the formula is just so perfect and quick to work with and I don’t even need to mention the finish as we all know just how wonderful it is!
Also, throughout this month I have been going eye crazy for the MAC ‘Mix & Switch’ Mineralize eye shadow. These beauties came out in a collection way back in 2011 and have since been discontinued but I picked this one up in CCO shop a few months ago and I just love it. It’s so easy for travel and creating quick easy looks and the colours are just really nice and work perfectly to bring out brown eyes. As always with MAC eyeshadows, the pigmentation is great and I find that these lasts for quite a few hours (without a primer) so absolutely perfect for everyday use.
It goes without saying; I just cannot live without Carmex! For quite a few years now I’ve suffered from incredibly dry, flaky and painful lips and nothing seems to work. I’m not saying that Carmex is my miracle product but it is my go-to for a quick fix and my lips have definitely improved by using this daily. It’s brilliant as not only does it have SPF 15, it also tastes of Cherry! Cherry is my favourite taste and scent so this just makes for a happy Abbi!
I’ve also been picking up the ‘Maybelline Color Sensational Cream Gloss‘ in ‘Lovely Pearl’ a lot this month. I usually don’t like or wear lipgloss but this is just the perfect pink colour with not too much crazy glitter and it’s not sticky at all. It feels and looks great on the lips so what more could I possibly want?
As you all know my go-to favourite skincare item at the moment is the Micellar Water from B.Pure; I still think this is as wonderful as I first claimed and this has improved my skin since I started using this; I’ve found my skin is a lot softer and has less red patches so this is just a holy grail product for me at the moment. What I love about this is that it’s just so soft on the skin so every easy to use if you have incredibly sensitive skin and around the delicate eye area. You can read my full review here!
Last but no least is my new favourite make up brush… The ‘Expert Face Brush‘ from Real Techniques! I’ve been using this to apply and blend in my foundation and concealer and I just really love it! It’s really soft and it makes it incredibly easy to achieve a flawless base and really get into all the little corners of my face making it even. I was ultimately worried about what I would use this for; but it’s actually been a really good buy!
So there we have it! My June favourites! I hope you enjoyed reading through this and I hope you all had a fantastic June! I’ve spent most of it watching Made in Chelsea… oops! What was your stand out product last month? 🙂
